The purpose of the play is to inform student audiences - in an
entertaining way - some of the major causes of stress in their
live's: high expectations; family problems; peer pressure; friends
& relationships; time pressure and the future. Through the course
of the play a number of successful stress reduction strategies will
be highlighted: exercise; good nutrition; life balance; positive
thoughts and talking out concerns.
The play is set in the form of a game show where young contestants must answer a series of skill testing questions about stress and stress reduction in order to get to the challenge match - a final round where the finalists must make it through a very stressful day of your average 11 year old!
Larger than life props and costumes, and a young cast of fourteen - grade five and six students - will guarantee lots of laughs and learning for student audiences between grades 4 - 6. The play is approximately 40 minutes in length with a 15 minute discussion period at the end of the play facilitated by the actors, Headwaters Health Authority - Banff Public Health and Community Care, and Town of Banff Community Services staff.
